What is the current PPF interest rate in 2025?
The current PPF interest rate is 7.1% per annum, set and reviewed quarterly by the Government of India. It has remained stable at 7.1% since April 2020.
Can I invest more than ₹1.5 lakh in PPF?
No. The maximum annual deposit limit is ₹1,50,000. Any amount above this will not earn interest and won't qualify for tax deduction under Section 80C.
When can I withdraw from PPF?
Partial withdrawal is allowed from the 7th year (up to 50% of balance at end of 4th year). Full maturity withdrawal is at 15 years. The account can be extended in 5-year blocks.
